Tekirova is the southernmost resort in the Kemer district, 12 km from Kemer centre. It's the closest town to Phaselis (2 km) and the gateway to Olympos, Çıralı, and the wilder Lycian coast beyond. Home to the Rixos Premium Tekirova resort, the town has a quieter, more exclusive feel. A rental car here is practically essential — the best sights are south of Tekirova and unreachable by public transport.
On your doorstep: Phaselis is just 2 km north of Tekirova — a 5-minute drive or a 30-minute coastal walk. Being this close means you can visit Phaselis multiple times: early morning swim, sunset visit, quick afternoon dip. Tekirova Beach is long, pebbly, and well-maintained, with sunbeds and water sports in summer. The town has a small marina with boat trips to nearby coves.
Southward adventures: Olympos ruins and beach (11 km, 15-minute drive), Çıralı Beach (13 km, 18 minutes), Yanartaş/Chimaera flames (15 km, 20 minutes + 30-minute hike). These three form the classic 'southern day trip' from Tekirova — leave at 09:00, visit Olympos ruins, swim at Çıralı Beach, have a fish lunch in Çıralı village, hike Yanartaş at sunset. Without a car, you'd spend half the day waiting for dolmuş connections that may never come.
Further exploration: Adrasan Beach (30 km, 35 minutes) — hidden golden sand cove. Kumluca (25 km) — Friday market, citrus-growing region. Demre/Myra (55 km, 1 hour) — Lycian rock tombs and St. Nicholas Church. Kaş (80 km, 1 hour 15 minutes) — bohemian harbour town. From Tekirova, you're perfectly positioned for these southern excursions — all are 30–90 minutes closer than from Kemer centre.
Phaselis (2 km, 5 min drive), Olympos (11 km), Çıralı Beach (13 km), Yanartaş (15 km), boat trips from the marina, beach, and excellent access to the southern Lycian coast. A rental car unlocks destinations that are otherwise unreachable.
