Çamyuva is a laid-back beach resort 8 km south of Kemer, famous for its long sandy beach and proximity to Phaselis ancient city (just 6 km away). It's quieter than Kemer but perfectly positioned for exploring the southern coast. A rental car transforms Çamyuva from a simple beach holiday into a base for adventure.
Beach & sea: Çamyuva Beach is one of the best on the Kemer coast — a mix of sand and pebbles, 1.5 km long, with clear water and mountain views. Water sports available in summer. Boat trips from Çamyuva's small harbour visit nearby coves. The beach has sunbed rental and a few cafés — quieter and more relaxed than Kemer's Moonlight Beach.
Ancient ruins on your doorstep: Phaselis is 6 km south (10-minute drive) — three bays and extensive Lycian/Roman ruins in a stunning coastal setting. Olympos is 18 km (25 minutes). Yanartaş/Chimaera is 20 km (30 minutes + 30-minute hike). Having a car in Çamyuva means you can visit Phaselis for a morning swim before the tour buses arrive, be back for lunch, and head to Olympos in the afternoon.
Day trips from Çamyuva: Tekirova (4 km south, beach and Rixos Premium resort), Kemer (8 km north, marina, restaurants, nightlife), Tahtalı Mountain cable car (15 km, 25 minutes), Göynük Canyon (14 km, 20 minutes), Antalya (50 km, 50 minutes). All are easy drives. Without a car, you're limited to the dolmuş (minibus) along the main road — possible but slow and inflexible.
Beach (one of the best on the coast), Phaselis ancient city (10 min drive), boat trips, water sports, and easy access to Olympos, Yanartaş, and Tahtalı Mountain. Quieter than Kemer but well-positioned for exploring. A rental car is strongly recommended.
