Kemer is far more than a resort town — it's the gateway to some of Turkey's best ancient ruins, hidden beaches, mountain adventures, and coastal drives. Whether you're here for 3 days or 2 weeks, this guide covers everything worth doing in and around Kemer, all accessible with a rental car.
Ancient ruins within 30 minutes: Phaselis (15 min) — swim among Lycian ruins in three bays. Olympos (35 min) — ruins in a lemon grove valley. Yanartaş/Chimaera (40 min) — eternal flames burning for 2,500 years. All three can be done in one epic day with a car. None have reliable public transport — a rental car is essential.
Beaches worth driving to: Moonlight Beach (Kemer centre, 5 min) — Blue Flag, facilities, beach clubs. Çıralı Beach (40 min) — 4 km wild golden sand, turtle nests. 3–4 days minimum to see the highlights (Phaselis, Göynük Canyon, a beach day, a boat trip). 7 days lets you add Olympos/Çıralı, Tahtalı, and a day trip to Antalya. 10–14 days allows Kaş, Kalkan, and Patara road trips. A rental car doubles what you can see in any given time.
