The Turkish Riviera is made for road trips — the D400 coastal highway is one of the world's great drives, hugging the Mediterranean with the Taurus Mountains on one side and the sea on the other. From Kemer, you can embark on 5 distinct road trip routes, from a half-day coastal cruise to a multi-day Lycian odyssey. All you need is a rental car, a full tank, and a sense of adventure.
Route 1 — The Kemer Coastal Loop (half-day, 80 km): Kemer → Phaselis (15 min, ruins + swim) → Olympos (20 min more, ruins in lemon groves) → Çıralı (5 min more, beach lunch) → Yanartaş (sunset hike) → return to Kemer via D400 (40 min). Total driving: ~80 km. A perfect half-day/full-day loop hitting 4 world-class sights. Leave at 09:00, back by 19:00 after Yanartaş sunset.
Route 2 — The Antalya East Archaeological Route (full day, 180 km): Kemer → Antalya Old Town (50 min, Hadrian's Gate, harbour) → Perge (25 min, Roman city) → Aspendos (25 min, theatre) → return via D400 (1h 10min). Total driving: ~180 km. A Roman ruins spectacular — three of Turkey's best ancient sites in one day. Start early (08:00) to have time at each site.
Route 3 — The Kaş & Kalkan Coastal Run (full day, 250 km): Kemer → Demre/Myra (1h 15min, rock tombs) → Kaş (30 min, lunch, old town) → Kaputaş Beach (10 min, iconic turquoise cove) → Kalkan (10 min, rooftop dinner at sunset) → return via D400 (2h 15min). Total driving: ~250 km. The quintessential Turkish Riviera road trip — stunning coastal scenery the entire way.
Route 4 — The Mountain & Canyon Route (half-day, 100 km): Kemer → Göynük Canyon (10 min) → Tahtalı Mountain cable car base (20 min, mountain road) → continue on mountain roads to the Taurus viewpoints → return via D400. Total driving: ~100 km. A nature-focused route combining forest, canyon, and mountain. Best in spring or autumn when temperatures are mild.
Route 5 — The Lycian Coast Odyssey (2–3 days, 400+ km): Kemer → Olympos/Çıralı → Adrasan → Demre/Myra → Kaş (overnight) → Kalkan → Patara Beach → Saklıkent Gorge → return via D400. The ultimate Turkish Riviera road trip. Overnight in Kaş or Kalkan. Requires 2–3 days. With unlimited mileage included in all RENAX rentals, there's no extra cost for distance.

Excellent. The D400 coastal highway is well-maintained, clearly signposted, and toll-free. Mountain roads are paved but winding — take it slowly. Petrol stations every 30–50 km. All RENAX rentals include unlimited mileage — drive as far as you want.
