Destination Guide
Adrasan (also called Çavuşköy) is the Turkish Riviera's best-kept secret — a 2 km golden sand beach backed by the Taurus Mountains, 45 minutes south of Kemer. No large resorts, no crowds, just clear water and mountain views. There is absolutely no public transport to Adrasan — a rental car is the only way to reach this hidden paradise.
Getting there: from Kemer, take the D400 south for approximately 55 km (past Tekirova, past the Olympos/Çıralı turn-off). At the roundabout near Kumluca, follow signs for 'Adrasan' and 'Çavuşköy' — turn right (south) off the D400 onto the mountain road. The road climbs through the Taurus foothills and then descends into the Adrasan valley — it's paved but winding, with some steep sections. Total drive: 45 minutes (35 km from Kemer). The road ends at the beach with a large, free car park.
What to do at Adrasan: (1) Adrasan Beach — 2 km of golden sand, shallow water ideal for swimming, stunning mountain backdrop. No sunbeds or development — pure nature. (2) Boat trips — small boats from the beach offer trips to hidden coves, Suluada Island (the 'Turkish Maldives'), and the Adrasan coast. (3) Hiking — the Lycian Way passes through Adrasan, with trails to Olympos (5 hours) and the surrounding mountains. (4) Fish restaurants — the beach has a handful of excellent, family-run fish restaurants — try the grilled sea bass.
Driving tips: the D400 is fine, but the mountain road to Adrasan is winding with steep sections — use low gears on descents. The road is fully paved but narrow in places — take it slowly and enjoy the spectacular mountain views. Fill up with petrol before leaving Kemer — there are no fuel stations in Adrasan. Best time: weekdays in summer (weekends get local visitors from Antalya), or May/September for perfect weather and total solitude. Leave Kemer by 8:30 AM in summer to claim the best spot on the beach.
Take the D400 south 55 km to Kumluca, turn right at Adrasan sign. Follow the mountain road 15 km to the beach. Fully paved, 45 minutes from Kemer. Large free car park at the beach.
The D400 section is easy. The mountain road is winding with steep sections — take it slowly, use low gears, and enjoy the views. Any car can handle it in dry weather. Fill up with petrol before leaving.
No — it's one of the least developed beaches on the Antalya coast. Weekdays are quiet even in summer. Weekends attract some local visitors from Antalya. No large resorts — just nature.
