Travel Guide
How much does a Kemer holiday really cost? This transparent budget guide breaks down every expense — accommodation, food, activities, and transport — at three budget levels: backpacker, mid-range, and luxury. Spoiler: a rental car is one of the best value investments you can make, often paying for itself in saved taxi fares and tour costs within 2–3 days.
Accommodation (per night): Budget: €30–50 (pension or small hotel in Çamyuva/Göynük). Mid-range: €80–150 (good 4-star hotel or boutique in Kemer centre). Luxury: €200–500+ (5-star all-inclusive resort). Prices are highest July–August, lowest November–March. Book 3–6 months ahead for peak season best rates.
Food & drink (per person per day): Budget: €15–20 (local lokantas, pide, market fruit, self-catering). Mid-range: €30–50 (mix of local restaurants and marina dining). Luxury: €60–100+ (all-inclusive resort or daily marina fine dining). Turkish breakfast (kahvaltı) is excellent value — €5–8 for a huge spread. A beer at a bar: €3–5. A glass of wine at a marina restaurant: €6–10.
Transport & activities: Car rental: €55–80/day with RENAX (full insurance included). This single cost transforms your holiday budget. Compare: daily taxi to Phaselis and back: €30–40. Organised tour to Olympos/Çıralı: €50–60 per person. One-day car rental at €55 covers two people and gives you total freedom. Boat trip (Three Islands): €20–30 pp. Phaselis entry: €1. Göynük Canyon: €3–5. Tahtalı cable car: €25–30. Museum entries: €5–15. A weekly holiday budget (mid-range, including car rental): approximately €150–200 per day for two people.
Budget: €500–700 per person including accommodation, food, and a few activities. Mid-range: €800–1,200 including a rental car. Luxury (all-inclusive resort): €1,500–3,000+. A rental car (€55/day) is one of the best value investments — it pays for itself in saved taxi fares and tour costs.
Kemer is mid-range by Turkish standards — more expensive than Alanya or Side, less expensive than Bodrum or Kaş. The big cost difference is whether you stay all-inclusive or self-cater. A rental car helps control costs by giving you access to cheaper dining and free activities outside the resort zone.
Travel in shoulder season (May/October — lower accommodation prices). Stay in Çamyuva or Göynük (cheaper than central Kemer). Eat at local lokantas (€5–10 vs €20–30 at marina restaurants). Rent a car instead of taking organised tours (saves €50–100+ per day). Visit free beaches (Çıralı, Adrasan) instead of beach clubs.
