Travel Guide
A Kemer holiday isn't just a beach holiday — you'll be exploring ancient ruins, hiking canyons, driving mountain roads, and dining at marina restaurants. This packing list covers everything: beach gear, archaeological site essentials, driving must-haves, and seasonal specifics. Pack smart — your rental car has limited boot space (3–4 suitcases depending on vehicle).
Beach essentials: swimwear (2–3 sets — things dry slowly in humidity), quick-dry towel (Turkish peshtemal towels are thin, fast-drying, and take minimal space), water shoes (essential — most Kemer beaches are pebbly, and canyon pools have slippery rocks), snorkel and mask (the Mediterranean is crystal clear and full of fish), high-SPF sunscreen (Turkish sun is intense — SPF 30 minimum, 50 recommended), sunglasses, wide-brimmed hat, reusable water bottle (fill up at your hotel — plastic waste is a problem on the coast).
Ruins & hiking gear: sturdy walking shoes or trail sandals (you'll walk on uneven ancient stones at Phaselis, Olympos, and Termessos), lightweight long trousers/skirt (for visiting mosques if your trip includes Antalya), daypack (for water, camera, snacks), camera or phone with plenty of storage (no filter needed — the light is spectacular), portable charger/power bank (for GPS navigation on road trips), insect repellent (evenings near water and forest).
Driving & road trip gear: valid driving licence (check requirements for Turkey), phone mount for GPS navigation (illegal to hold a phone while driving in Turkey), USB car charger (all RENAX vehicles have USB ports), Turkish phrasebook or translation app (for rural areas where English is limited), cash in Turkish Lira (for small purchases at rural markets and petrol stations), reusable shopping bag (Turkish markets don't provide bags), car sunshade (if visiting in summer — parked cars become ovens).
Water shoes (essential — pebbly beaches and rocky canyon pools), sturdy walking shoes or trail sandals (ancient ruins have uneven stones), and casual sandals for evenings. Leave high heels at home — Kemer's streets and marina are casual.
If you're using resort/hotel beach facilities — no, towels are provided. For wild beaches (Çıralı, Adrasan, Olympos) — yes, bring your own. A thin Turkish peshtemal towel is ideal — quick-drying, compact, and multi-purpose.
Valid driving licence, phone mount for GPS, USB charger, sunglasses (glare on the D400 is intense), and cash in Turkish Lira for tolls, parking, and small purchases. All RENAX vehicles come with USB ports and phone connectivity.
