Seasonal Guide
October is the last month of Kemer's extended summer — highs still reach 24–28°C, the sea retains its warmth at 24°C, and the landscape turns golden. Crowds are gone, prices drop, and you'll have ancient ruins entirely to yourself. It's the best month for culture-focused travellers who still want beach weather. A rental car makes October exploring effortless.
Weather: highs 24–28°C, lows 14–18°C, 4–6 rainy days (increasing through the month). Sea: 24°C — still comfortably warm, the same as June. Sunshine: 8–9 hours. The light is golden and photographers love it. Early October feels like late summer. Late October can feel like early autumn with occasional rain. Pack layers — warm days, cool evenings. The Taurus Mountains show the first dusting of snow on high peaks — a beautiful backdrop.
Best activities: (1) Ruins without crowds — this is THE month for archaeology. Phaselis, Olympos, Myra, Perge, Aspendos, and Termessos are virtually empty. You'll share 2,000-year-old theatres with nobody. (2) Hiking — the Lycian Way is perfect in October. Cool enough for serious trails, warm enough for swimming breaks. (3) Road trips — the D400 in October is stunning. Golden light, snow-dusted peaks, empty roads. Drive to Kaş for lunch, have the road to yourself. (4) Beach days — still possible, especially early October. Çıralı and Patara are beautiful in autumn light. (5) Market visits — Kemer Monday market and Kumluca Friday market are excellent in October — produce is abundant and the weather is pleasant for browsing.
Driving: excellent conditions. Cool mornings, warm afternoons, empty roads. October rain is possible — typically brief showers. The D400 is quiet. Parking is free and abundant everywhere. Fuel prices stable. Mountain roads are clear and safe. October is a driver's dream — all the beauty of the coast, none of the stress. A light jacket in the car for evenings.
Excellent — 24–28°C, 24°C sea, golden landscapes, empty ruins, and lowest prices of the summer season. Perfect for culture lovers, hikers, and anyone who prefers exploring without crowds.
Yes — sea temperature is 24°C, same as June. Comfortably warm for swimming. Beach clubs may have reduced hours or closed by late October, but wild beaches (Çıralı, Adrasan) are always open.
4–6 rainy days, increasing through the month. Rain is usually brief (1–2 hour showers). Early October is mostly dry. Late October sees more frequent rain. Pack a light rain jacket just in case.
