Destination Guide
Antalya Marina (Kaleiçi Yat Limanı) is a stunning natural harbour at the foot of the old town — a perfect crescent of water surrounded by cliffs, ancient walls, and waterfront cafés. It's a 50-minute drive from Kemer (45 km via D400). Park at the nearby car park, descend via the cobbled streets or the glass elevator, and spend an afternoon watching yachts, drinking Turkish tea, and taking a 1-hour bay cruise.
Getting there: take the D400 north from Kemer to Antalya (50 minutes). Follow signs for 'Şehir Merkezi' (City Centre) and 'Kaleiçi'. The best parking is the Kaleiçi Marina car park (Kaleiçi Marina Otoparkı) — ~€3/day, secure, and located right above the marina. From the car park, you can walk down through the old town's cobbled streets (10 minutes, steep but beautiful) or take the glass elevator near the cliff park (free, 1 minute). Alternative: park at Hadrian's Gate underground car park and walk through the old town to the marina (15 minutes, flat, scenic).
What to experience: (1) The Marina itself — a perfect natural harbour framed by ancient city walls and cliffs. Yachts and gulets bob in the water, and the atmosphere is relaxed and picturesque. (2) Boat trips — 1-hour bay cruises depart regularly (€15–20 per person). You'll see the Old Town from the sea, the Lower Düden Waterfall plunging off the cliffs, and the Antalya coastline. Great value and a different perspective on the city. (3) Waterfront cafés and restaurants — several terraced cafés line the marina, serving Turkish tea, coffee, and food with yacht views. Prices are tourist-level but the setting is worth it. (4) The climb back up — walk through Kaleiçi's cobbled streets back to the car park. You'll pass Ottoman houses, boutique shops, and the Kesik Minare (Broken Minaret) — a fascinating building that was a Roman temple, Byzantine church, and mosque.
Driving tips: Antalya city traffic can be heavy (08:00–09:30, 17:00–19:00). The marina car park is the most convenient — follow signs for 'Yat Limanı'. Combine Antalya Marina with: Kaleiçi Old Town (they're the same area — the marina is at the bottom, the old town above), Düden Waterfalls (15–20 minutes by car), Konyaaltı Beach (10 minutes), and the Antalya Museum (15 minutes). A perfect Antalya day: park at the marina, boat trip, lunch at a waterfront café, explore Kaleiçi, drive to Düden Lower Falls for sunset (20 minutes).
Kaleiçi Marina Otoparkı (~€3/day) — located right above the marina. Walk down through the old town (10 min) or take the glass elevator (free, 1 min). Alternative: Hadrian's Gate car park (15 min walk through Kaleiçi).
Yes — 1-hour bay cruises (€15–20 pp) depart regularly. You'll see the Old Town from the sea and the Lower Düden Waterfall plunging off the cliffs. Longer trips (3–4 hours) with swimming stops also available.
They're the same area — the marina is at the bottom of the old town. Park once, explore both. The marina is the waterfront level, Kaleiçi is the hillside above. Walk between them through cobbled streets — it's all one experience.
