Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

What CDW actually is: CDW is NOT insurance. It's a contractual agreement between you and the rental company that waives (reduces) your financial responsibility for damage to the vehicle. Without CDW, you'd be liable for the full cost of any damage. With CDW, your liability is capped at an agreed amount (the 'excess' or 'deductible'). Think of it as the rental company saying: 'If you damage the car, you won't pay more than X amount.'

How CDW works at RENAX: our full kasko insurance includes CDW — you're covered automatically. The excess (maximum you'd pay) is 5,000 TRY (~€140). This means: if you damage the car and repairs cost 50,000 TRY, you pay 5,000 TRY and insurance covers the rest. If repairs cost 3,000 TRY, you pay 3,000 TRY (below the excess). Airport chains: base rate €25/day + CDW €15/day + theft protection €10/day = €50/day before other fees. At RENAX: €55/day includes everything — no CDW surcharge.

Super CDW / Excess Reduction: airport chains will try to sell you 'Super CDW' or 'Excess Reduction' — an extra €10–15/day to reduce your excess from €1,000 to €0–100. This is where they make their real profit. RENAX doesn't play this game. Our standard excess (5,000 TRY / ~€140) is so low that 'excess reduction' would be meaningless. We include proper coverage from the start.
