Adrasan is what the Turkish Riviera used to look like before mass tourism arrived. A 2 km arc of golden sand backed by the Taurus mountains, with water so clear you can see the seabed from 5 metres up. It is located about 45 minutes south of Kemer by car — far enough to deter day-trippers, close enough for a perfect day trip.
Why Adrasan is Worth the Drive
Unlike Kemer's main beaches, Adrasan has no large resort hotels fronting the water. The bay is lined with small family-run pensions and fish restaurants. The absence of jet-skis and parasailing boats means the water stays clear and the atmosphere stays calm — a rare combination on the Antalya coast in summer.
The Road South
The drive from Kemer to Adrasan is itself part of the attraction. Leave the D400 at Kumluca and follow the signs to Adrasan — the road winds through citrus groves and pine forests with occasional sea views. The final descent into the bay is spectacular. A standard rental car (Renault Clio or Fiat Egea Cross) handles the road comfortably.
What to Do There
Swim, snorkel, eat fresh grilled fish, and walk the coastal path towards Cape Gelidonya — the easternmost point of the Lycian coast. If you have two days, consider staying overnight in one of the small pensions; prices are very reasonable and the sunsets over the bay are exceptional.
Tip from RENAX
Leave Kemer by 8:30am in summer to secure a good spot on the beach and avoid the midday heat on the mountain road. The drive takes around 45 minutes.
